Snowed In? Consider This Your Official Weekend Plan
A cozy, no-pressure guide to getting through a snowed-in weekend without getting bored.
Snow and ice have a way of clearing calendars fast. One minute you’re debating dinner plans with friends, the next you’re fully committed to staying inside and refreshing your timeline incessantly. After a few days of being in the house, though, cabin fever sets in.
Instead of fighting it, this is your sign to lean in. A snowed-in weekend doesn’t need to feel boring or aimless. It just needs a loose plan that makes the hours pass in a way that feels good.
Here’s what we’re doing.

Start the Morning with Something Warm
Before coffee, before scrolling, start with something warm. Tea, hot water, lemon water, whatever feels easy. Let the morning unfold slowly instead of rushing straight into the day. It really sets the tone for everything that follows.
Reorganize One Small Space
Choose one area in your home that’s been bothering you and focus only on that. A drawer, a shelf, or a corner is enough to make the space feel more organized without turning the day into a project.
Watch a Comfort Movie or Limited-Series
Stick to something easy and familiar, or a limited series you can watch at your own pace. This is not the moment for heavy plots or intense viewing. Let it be something you can half-watch while cooking, stretching, or simply resting.

Read the Book You’ve Been Putting Off
Get one step closer to reaching your Goodreads book goal this year. Pull out the book you’ve been meaning to start and let yourself read in pockets rather than all at once.
Stretch or Do Gentle Movement
After being indoors for hours, your body will appreciate something slow and supportive. A few stretches, light movement, or an easy flow can help release tension without demanding much energy.
Journal or Write Without an Agenda
Let your thoughts land somewhere outside your head by writing a few lines, a list, or whatever comes to mind without editing yourself.
Use a Face Mask or Body Oil
Days like this are a good excuse to linger a little longer in self-care routines. Take a warm shower, moisturize generously, and use products you usually save for later.
Brew Tea and Drink It Slowly
Make a cup of tea and actually sit with it from start to finish. Let it cool slightly, take your time, and enjoy the pause it creates in the middle of the day.

Make a Soup, Stew, or One-Pot Meal
Snowed-in weekends call for food that simmers and fills the house with good smells. Take your time chopping, stirring, and letting it cook without rushing the process. Bonus points if it leaves you with leftovers for the days ahead.
Revisit an Old Playlist or Album
Scroll back to music you loved years ago and let it play in the background. Familiar songs can shift the mood of the entire day without much effort.
Clean and Organize Your Digital Life
Delete old screenshots, clear out emails, and close tabs you’ve been meaning to for weeks (or maybe even months). It’s a low-effort way to mentally reset that doesn’t require leaving the couch.
Call Someone You’ve Been Meaning to
A snowed-in weekend creates space for longer, unrushed conversations. Call a friend or family member you haven’t caught up with in a while. It’s an easy way to feel connected, even while staying at home.
